The gastronomic magazine "grOsso modo"

PPP asked me to make ten covers of a magazine created by myself.

This magazine has the following editorial project :

It adresses to young settled who want to simply learn cooking and then to make good meals. No need to be a cunning cooker, grOsso modo details his cooking recipes with explanations without a particular culinary vocabulary. I stressed on the abundance of illustrations and graphic insets who try to render the cooking exercice as playful as possible, even for none-lovers of gastronomy.

Simple recipes, schemes, this magazine attempts to keep pleasant to see, and to avoid to be taken as a youth magazine. We also avoid falling in the gastronomic magazine stereotype where lead elegant recipes photographies around texte columns and a big title which is submerging the picture.

We will privilege young head-cooks, to improve the proximity  between readership and article writers. For example, Jamie Oliver, a young british head-cook who is surprising and enjoyable, with a very human personality. We also will give an importance to using of food available at each season. The aim is to make young cooks to use chosing and consuming good products. Recipes will try to be original, uncommon, tasty, with easily available ingredients.



Well, grOsso modo isn't an elitist magazine reserved to cooking lovers but rather to gourmets and gluttons who don't have the time and don't want to cook.

grOsso modo will be edited at the A5 size, in order to air the formatting and to attempt to get an approachable reading. It also will be easily transportable and will endure in time. My intention is to make it a kitchen composant. Evermore his size lets possible his arrangement on a low shelf. The cover will be thick but not as much as a novel, and waterproof to avoir risks of dirtying.


Finally, grOsso modo will be a monthly magazine, that will become a tip to diversify his subjects without sinking into banality.

grOsso modo becomes an object that readers can enjoy to keep beyond the cooking practise.
